Off-peak rates all day from January 18 – February 7, 2022
The Government of Ontario has set electricity rates at the off-peak price of 8.2¢/kWh, 24 hours per day from January 18-February 7, 2022. Households, farms and small businesses will pay the off-peak rate whether they normally pay time-of- use or tiered rates.
The majority of Lakeland Power’s residential and small business customers are billed based on time-of-use rates. The rate periods are different in the summer and winter months. With time-of-use rates, there is a financial incentive for you to conserve energy and to shift some consumption away from on-peak periods. There are three price periods:
Effective November 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020

At the beginning of the day on February 23, 2021, RPP consumers will return to time-of-use (TOU) and tiered pricing at the RPP prices set by the OEB on December 15, 2020 and shown in the table below.

You can now opt out of Time-of-Use Pricing
If you’re a residential or small business customer that pays Time-of-Use (TOU) electricity prices, you can choose to switch to Tiered prices beginning November 1, 2020.
To switch to Tiered prices, you must notify us by completing the Election form, available on our website.
If you want to continue paying TOU prices, no action is required.

The highest energy prices occur over the afternoon, when air-conditioning use is greatest.

There are two peak periods during the winter months: in the early morning and in the evening. During these times, increased space heating, lighting and appliance use is common.
Weekends and Holidays

These periods are off-peak, all year.
